About Lily Pratt

I recently graduated from the Virginia Tech College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences, majoring in Criminology with a minor in Peace Studies and Social Justice. However, I believe that's not the most significant aspect of my journey. Initially, I pursued my education degree at Emory and Henry University. Yet, the Covid-19 Pandemic prompted a reevaluation of my true passions and aspirations. This period of reflection led me to Virginia Western Community College to clarify my goals. I discovered that my desire to teach stemmed from a deeper wish to influence individuals and society. This revelation drove me to apply to the Sociology Department at Virginia Tech, where I began to realize my passion. Alongside my academic accomplishments, I engaged with a humanitarian group on campus, serving as the Social Media Manager for Amnesty International at Virginia Tech. I also served as a research assistant in the Sociology Department, contributing to a project that raised awareness of scams targeting the elderly. Having ignited my passion for humanitarian work and activism and pursuing my desire to learn about society and interpersonal relationships, I am seeking employment with an organization that appreciates these skills and desires a highly personable individual committed to contributing to the community.
