About Lily Scanlan

Lily is a Consultant Speech & Language Therapist, specialising in Autism/neurodevelopmental conditions. Lily is currently working as the Manager of the Ealing Autism Hub: an all-age referral hub which also provides pre-diagnostic support for those referred for Autism assessments. This service is one of the first of its kind in the UK. Lily has lead this project and supported in the design of this service, which has involved leading on co-production with lived experience experts to shape the offer of the service. Lily is involved with working parties within the ICB to support/identifying and develop services to provide better care for autistic people. Lily is a trained and experienced Autism Diagnostic assessor using ADOS-2/ADI-R. She has worked within a range of both NHS and private health organisations, conducting assessments across the life-span. Alongside her clinical experience, Lily has lived experienced of neurodiversity, having her own diagnosis of ADHD and experiences caring for Autistic & LD family members. Lily’s personal experiences drives her passion to support service users and is an advocate for neuro-affirming practices. Lily’s skills and experience includes- Service development and design across the NHS and private sector - Management/Leadership and Supervision of Clinicians - Clinical experience as a SALT, with Specialist experience in: Autism, Learning Disability, Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC), Social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH), Selective Mutism and Developmental Language Disorder- Autism Diagnostic assessments using ADOS-2/ADI-R and supporting ADHD assessments - Leading Co-production with service users and stakeholders to improve services and outcomes for Autistic people - Delivering training to professionals including related to Autism/Neurodiversity- Developing and delivering pre and post-diagnostic support for Autistic people - Service management including bid writing, funding resolutions and budget management etc. Lily has previously volunteered as a SEND Governor for a local school and was previously on the committee panel for the London Special Schools CEN Network for Speech and Language Therapists. More recently, Lily is a committee member for the Neurodivergent SLT CEN network. Lily was involved as one of the co-authors in producing guidelines to support neurodivergent Speech and Language Therapists in the workplace.
