About Lina Andersson

At 6 years old I got my own computer. It was 1995 and my dad who worked in IT was already teaching me how to build my own website and how to solve technical problems. I was amazed that he could build something and launch it for the whole world to see. The internet soon became my playground, and I learnt English before starting school. After finishing my studies in Finland, I crossed the border to The Netherlands for love at 19 years old - needless to say that we met online. I didn't have a plan. But I knew I had to do it to challenge myself. I chose to study International Communications & Media, because I wanted study with people from all over the world. Marketing was my main language but I also knew that a big part of marketing is to fully understand other cultures and to truly connect with people to make real and lasting impact. After that I worked at a marketing agency as an all-round marketer. I quickly realised that the teamwork was vital to the growth of the client, not just the skills each one of us had and the clients we signed. The synergy of your marketing team when growing a company is something that stuck with me as I've seen that it can make or break your scaleup. One day my colleague asked me for advice to help her dad with launching his e-commerce startup. This was the start of my entrepreneurial adventure and bigger clients soon followed. After 5 years of being a freelance marketer helping scaleups achieve international growth, I realised it was time to scale my own dream. Online marketing and technology enabled me to become a cross-border entrepreneur. It's my core belief that a scaleup that wants to raise the bar doesn't need just any marketing team, but a HIVE.
