I have been employed with the State of Maine since June, I start as a temp in April and got my first job with Maine Revenue Services. I went from there November to Labor Market Information Services (now Center for Workforce Research and Information). I saw a great deal of changes from printing our publications to going to electronic. Made the position change in the work duties performed, due to no more billing and processing payments for publications and no more massive mailings. I was able to grow in knowledge and skills with helping other parts or the research division is organizing, data entry and filing of survey data. As, well as preparing federal reports and preparing the mailings of surveys. Recently, I took a demotion for personal and economic reasons and changed over to Bureau of Rehabilitation - Vocational Rehabilitation in the Lewistion Career Center (1 1/2 miles from home!) January 17, 2012. I have now been in my position at the Lewiston Career Center for 2 and 3/4 years. My work continues to change. I am doing the monthly VR Orientation presentation on the 4th Wednesday at 2 pm. I am being asked to help the supervisor's, on an as needed basis, to greet our providers and clients for our monthly Provider Fair. This is when the client interviews providers to see who they would like to work with for services. This happens once a month on the 3rd Friday from 10 - 12.
