About Lindsay Coffin
I'm a senior software engineer and scrum master on the database server performance team at Vertica by OpenText. I focus on query optimization and resource management, writing performant C++ code with a goal of scalability and maintainability (have done projects in Python as well). Right now I use Jira and Bitbucket to manage and participate in my scrum team's agile processes, and make heavy use of gdb, SQL, and VS Code for day to day development. One of my favorite projects recently was implementing thread management in resource pools and query tuning to improve throughput of simple queries. I graduated with my MS in Computer Science in May 2022 with a focus on computer systems. My background is in linguistics (specifically language acquisition research) and higher ed administration (specifically student employment). I love being challenged to do work that makes someone else's work easier.
