About Lindsay Johnson

My name is Lindsay Johnson and I am a fourth grade special education teacher at the Walton Central School District. I am a former graduate from The College at Brockport studying mathematics and childhood inclusive education. I have a Bachelor of Science in mathematics and will received my teaching certification in January 2014. I also graduated with a masters degree program in literacy at SUNY Oneonta. I completed my first placement for student teacher at Victor Primary School in third grade followed by my second placement in special education at Barker Road Middle School in Pittsford, NY. I have been teaching at Walton central school district as a consultant teacher and resource room teacher for the past four years. My character traits of responsibility and compassion have led me to years of success and passion for working with children. Throughout my experience in the education program at Brockport and seven years of experience working as a counselor with the East Bloomfield Summer Recreation Program has provided a vast familiarity and understanding of how to effectively work with children. During the education program, I have spent many hours in several different classrooms to learn from veteran teachers. I have become familiar with utilizing the Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) of students to create inclusive lesson plans with assistive technology.
