About Lindsay Mark

Contact me at Lindsay_Mark@outlook.com. I have a wide range of interests and an entrepreneurial spirit. I began my education and career in the biological sciences. I spent years in marine education, living and working aboard a 70 foot Schooner teaching marine biology, ocean science, and sailing to schoolchildren. I also spent a summer in the office of environmental control of Babylon, NY, a coastal town on Long Island, mapping stormwater runoff to aid in the planning of rebuilding wetlands to buffer the water's release into the Long Island Sound and prevent the frequent closing of beaches. While there I participated in the identification of the beach nests of the endangered Piping Plover, enclosing the nests from predators, and counting the hatchlings and fledglings that survived the season. I then spent years supporting my family and pursuing artistic endeavors while we frequently relocated with the U.S. Navy. Using my science background and sewing skills, I authored and crafted a series of fabric baby books based on science and ecology. With my woodworking skills and my love of functional art, I explored combining sculpture and carpentry in a collection of artistic furniture pieces with wistful themes and interesting finishes. I am currently enrolled at Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado, pursuing a double major in Small Business and Entrepreneurship as well as Accounting. I am excited to use this knowledge to further my ability to produce and bring to market the projects that I love. In my free time, I enjoy reading, writing, sculpture, watercolors, horror movies, mountain biking, and cross country skiing.
