About Lindsay Wingate

I have worked in the dance and fitness industry for over 10 years. Throughout this time, I have worked in a multitude of areas including dance organisations, university sport, commercial sports centres and group exercise companies. The work I have done has taken on many themes such as engaging inactive people, working in hard to reach communities, activities within a hospital setting, devising events and activities for young people and working with older adults living with dementia. I am passionate about creating opportunities for others from different backgrounds to participate. I believe in the power of exercise and the many benefits it can bring to people including improved mental health, reducing social isolation and promoting body confidence. I am highly motivated, enthusiastic and reflective. I’m not afraid of a challenge and will evaluate results and myself to make things work more effectively. I have recognised that my strengths lie in projects, building strong relationships with internal and external partners as well as working on my own using my own initiative to devise creative solutions and ideas. I have a relaxed and effective people management approach, I’m confident at building productive and successful partnerships with experience in a range of sectors. Since becoming a mum to two young daughters, I have further developed my ability to work efficiently, organise and delegate. Negotiation and compromise have also been important with a strong willed three-year-old but has been useful tools to use within my working life.
