About Lindsey Cox

I am passionate about art history and I have many years of experience working within the arts, heritage, and cultural sectors including the National Portrait Gallery, Arts Council England, and the National Trust. My current research interests include early modern portrait miniatures, painting in Britain, prose, and drama. In addition to my PhD thesis on British portrait miniatures I have also written dissertations on the art and prose of Nicholas Hilliard (Open University), Queen Elizabeth I and female iconography (University of Warwick), and representations of Elizabeth I within art, drama, and literature (Glasgow University). My work is largely interdisciplinary and draws upon my background working with objects and with archives. I also have qualifications in arts management and policy, teaching, and craft and design. Currently working towards an Associateship of the Museums Association.
