About Linetta Koppert

Working as associate professor Surgical Oncology at Erasmus MC Rotterdam I am driven by a strong belief that the future of healthcare lies in value-based care, digital transformation, and true co-creation with patients. I am the Public Coordinator and Principal Investigator of Hospital@Home, a large-scale European public–private partnership funded under the Innovative Health Initiative (IHI). Together with academic hospitals, industry partners and patient organisations across Europe, we develop and validate digital, patient-centred care models that enable hospital-level care to be delivered safely at home. Hospital@Home focuses on cardiovascular and pulmonary disease, minor stroke/TIA, migraine and cluster headache, with the ambition to improve outcomes, patient experience and the sustainability of healthcare systems. Alongside my clinical work, I focus on quality of care, outcome measurement, VBHC and digital care pathways. In 2014, I co-founded the Academic Breast Cancer Center at Erasmus MC, a recognised centre of excellence for hereditary breast cancer. My clinical expertise includes breast cancer in young women and BRCA1/2 mutation carriers, complex breast cancer and thyroid cancer. My passion for patient-centred innovation is rooted in practice. In 2019, a patient named Merel approached me with ideas for a digital patient journey. That conversation led to the creation of DigiZorg, developed through close collaboration between patients and healthcare professionals.
