About Ling-Wei Lee

I am a seasoned Senior Front-End Engineer with a proven track record in architecting scalable, enterprise-grade applications from the ground up, blending startup agility with co-founder leadership. Passionate about crafting intuitive, performant user experiences that drive real-world impact, I've thrived in fast-paced, collaborative environments across edtech, mentoring platforms, and consumer services. At INGENTA INC. in Tokyo (2023–Present), as the sole front-end engineer, I spearheaded the development of SAKUMON, a robust enterprise educational management platform serving 100+ Japanese institutions. Single-handedly architecting 98K+ lines of production TypeScript code using Next.js 14, I delivered innovative features like a custom TipTap Pro rich text editor with 18 specialized extensions (e.g, MathJax for math expressions and chemistry formula editing), multi-format document pipelines (TipTap JSON ↔ DOCX/QTI/Excel), and scalable state management via TanStack Query with 340+ hooks. These enhancements streamlined assessment creation, reduced content formatting time by 35%, and optimized load times by 40% for datasets over 10K items. I also established comprehensive testing (164 Jest files, 95% coverage), CI/CD with CircleCI/Docker, and full Japanese localization with IME support, ensuring zero-downtime deploys and cultural accessibility.Previously, at Codementor (codementor.io), I designed, implemented, and tested the company's React.js website, collaborating with cross-functional teams in agile sprints while mentoring juniors and optimizing workflows for two core products. As a co-founder at TsunamiWorks, I drove the launch of iFoodie (ifoodie.tw)—Taiwan's Yelp-like food discovery service—developing and maintaining the Android app, website, and key features, while recruiting talent to scale our lean team.My expertise spans React/Next.js, TypeScript, React Native, TanStack Query, TipTap/ProseMirror, Tailwind CSS, Jest/Testing Library, and DevOps tools like Docker/CircleCI. I'm adept at solo deep dives and team orchestration, always prioritizing user-centric innovation in dynamic settings. Let's connect to build the next big thing!
