Background
About Linge Li
In 2016, I completed my undergraduate degree in forestry from Northeastern Forestry University in China, where I ranked first among 34 students based on my overall academic performance, awards, publications, and sports achievements. Following that, I pursued a Master's degree in Plant Sciences at Leiden University from 2016 to 2018. During this time, I gained valuable experience in bioinformatics analysis at Naturalis Biodiversity Centre and studied auxin transportation response gene TCH family with Arabidopsis at the Institute of Biology Leiden for 10 months. Currently, I am a PhD student at Utrecht University studying environment biology, focusing on the response of shade stress in tomato Moneymaker and M82 as a model plant using microscopy techniques, including confocal and normal microscopes, RNA-seq skills, including mRNA extraction and library preparation, and bioinformatics skills, including R for RNA-seq. Additionally, I possess advanced molecular techniques such as Gateway technique, floral dip transformation, protoplast transformation, tomato transformation, and microscopy. I also combine molecular research with evolutionary skills such as ancestral states reconstruction, various phylogenetic analyses, and more. In addition to my research, I have been actively involved in the Utrecht University Council as a member of the Utrecht PhD Postdoc Party (UPP). This involvement in political work has given me a deeper understanding of the needs of my peers and allowed me to act as a communication bridge between them and the university administration. Furthermore, I have taken on the role of PR communication manager and oversee the university council's LinkedIn channel, which has provided me with valuable experience in managing social media accounts and improving communication strategies. Overall, my diverse experiences in research, politics, and communication have broadened my interests and skill sets. While I have a strong background in research, I am open to exploring career opportunities beyond the field of research as long as they align with my interests and passions. I am eager to apply my skills and knowledge in a variety of settings and am excited to see where my career path takes me.
