About Linnea Downs

When I was six years old, I wanted to be a public speaker. The ability to spark change with my words, or to represent the voice of my community, seemed like the ultimate superpower. As a film and television student, I've been able to explore exactly this as I collaborate on a range of projects that emphasize storytelling as a means of conversation and expression. Whether through student short films in non-traditional mediums such as analog film and stop-motion, or through creative collaborations with nonprofit organizations, I’ve explored how media can push the boundaries of representation to spark dialogue and change. As I continue growing as a filmmaker, I'm excited to continue searching for and creating stories that compel meaningful action.
