Background
About Lis Lobo
I am a biomedical doctor with qualifications in clinical analysis, haematology, and hemotherapy. I also have a Master's degree in Medical Parasitology and a PhD in Biomedical Sciences within the speciality of Cellular and Molecular Biology, both awarded by the Institute of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine of the New University of Lisbon (IHMT NOVA). During my post-doc on a European project focused on Chagas Disease at IHMT NOVA, I aimed to bridge the gap between the preclinical and clinical development of a needle-free vaccine against Trypanosoma cruzi. In 2023, I worked as a collaborating junior researcher at NOVA School of Science and Technology (FCT NOVA) in the Glycoimmunology lab. I also had the opportunity to give scientific and technical support to other researchers, as well as student supervision and lab management. At this moment, I am working on a project funded by the La Caixa Foundation, which aims to dissect how a protein acts as a crucial regulator of ageing and age-related diseases in the Vascular Biology and Disease Lab at at Catolica Biomedical Research Centre (CBR).
