About Lisa Gray

As an Occupational Health & Safety Advisor at Westjet I was responsible for developing a safety program that would not only meet the requirements of the Alberta Certificate of Recognition (COR) but the requirements of any provincial COR that may be or come into effect. The accomplishment of that goal made WeatJet the first national airline to achieve COR recognition. In 2011 I decided to take my career in a slightly different direction and try a new industry, the Healthcare industry. In August of 2011 I was given an exciting opportunity to be part of the opening team for the new South Health Campus Hospital in south Calgary. This project is a $1.4 billion facility with over employees and for three years I developed and implemented an extremely successful safety program for this new facility. In 2015 I joined a project team that was tasked with developing and implementing a new online incident reporting system that was successfully rolled out to our employee in 2016. I have since taken on the role as our provincial workplace health & safety Program Lead. I lead a team of folks responsible for the design, development and implementation of all our company safety policies, processes and programs. As a Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) with a Certificate of Occuaptional Health & Safety, a degree in Applied Justice Studies and currently working on my Certified Health & Safety Consulting designation (CHSC) I am looking forward to seeing where my safety career takes me next!
