About Lisa Grogan

I believe strategy only works when people believe in it, act on it, and build from it. As CEO and Co-Founder of Overlap Associates, I work with leaders and organizations who are navigating complexity, driving change, and facing pressure to demonstrate real impact. These are public-interest, mission-driven organizations with strong leadership and diverse stakeholders — the kinds of places where strategy can feel abstract unless it’s designed for people to actually use. At Overlap, we do the human work- Strategy, alignment, and co-creation that spark clarity, capacity, and connection- Engagement and facilitation that bring diverse voices to the table- Operationally grounded plans that turn ideas into action. Over the last decade, we’ve helped civic systems, sector leaders, and impact-focused enterprises renew their strategic focus and grow their capacity to lead change. Clients often return and expand into multi-year partnerships because they see strategy not as a document, but as something alive — something that moves forward with their people. My role is at the front end: building relationships, understanding what organizations need, and shaping the right path forward. I love connecting the dots — between leaders, ideas, and opportunities — and setting the conditions for our team to do their best work. I began my career in broadcasting at CBC before moving into leadership roles in fundraising, marketing, and partnerships in Canada and the UK. That experience taught me how much alignment, storytelling, and trust matter when you’re leading through complexity. It’s what I continue to champion at Overlap today.
