Background
About Lisa Harmon
A CWU graduate, my writing has appeared in Los Angeles Times, Seattle Times, Seattle Post Intelligencer, Tacoma New Tribune, Yakima Herald Republic, Yakima Magazine, VW Trends, Coping with Cancer, Yakima Valley Bride, Playdate Magazines, & Playboy (well that last one isn't true, but it should be true, because I've sent them enough funny stuff to make their magazine so much better than it is. But now it's too late. They ceased printing it in 2020) I also have several self published novels, novellas, short story collections & a memoir. I wrote a good number of them, at Marsh, at my receptionist post, on the 23rd floor of the Financial Center in Seattle; including Mozenbeck, and Extra Pickle. Then, Marsh moved across the street to the Rainier Tower.(The one where the bottom looks like it's been chewed out by a beaver.) Yeah, anyway, it was in the Rainier Tower where I was just starting The Receptionist Handbook when I was outsourced and kicked to the curb. It was a good job, as jobs go. But being the window dressing doesn't last long. Older women are typically thrown out with the bath water. I remember when my ex-husband,(my boyfriend at the time) said to me on the five o'clock elevator ride, as I clung to my box of pictures and mugs tearing up,"That's funny, I got a thousand dollar bonus the same day you got kicked to the curb." I know it's hard to imagine why someone would MARRY a guy after they said something like that. But, I'm not one to make the wisest choices when it comes to men. I floundered a bit, after that, having some success as a hot dog cart business owner.I tried to return to reception work, but I'm too blind, apparently, along with my age. So, after my divorce, I packed up, & moved. Buying a tiny house in Yakima, that nobody else wanted, I proceeded to start failed business after failed business. Girl Dog didn't translate from Auburn, like I thought it would. Then there was Biblioburro Mobile Book and Coffee. Yeah, that went over like a lead balloon. Nobody wants to shoot the breeze and buy books from a chubby older woman. Now I'm focused on my massive crush on a small town police officer & all the wealth of writing it has produced. What a kind & wonderful person he seems to be. So patient & understanding (I'm guessing) as I slobber over him time & again on social media. My hero! My muse! What a guy. Really, he's the one you should hire. He's so awesome. But he's already got a really great job. I wouldn't want it, but- In short? I'm a writer of humor & romance, play the piano, sing, write songs & paint too. I'm amazing!
