My mission is to empower our kaimahi with the best clinical education and training strategies for our healthcare environment. I lead a national team of Nurse Educators, and work closely with a strong cross-functional network. I manage a training budget and I connect and support staff with developmental opportunities including funded post-graduate training. Key Areas of Expertise:‍ Curriculum Development: Crafting innovative clinical curricula, content and assessment tools to ensure the highest standards of practice. Ensuring access to a range of professional development opportunities. Continuous Improvement: Monitoring and refining our programs and delivery. Utilising mixed methods of learning such as blended learning; eLearning and workshop delivery that best suits the changing needs of the staff at NZ Blood Service. Leadership and Engagement: Inspiring and guiding teams to excel in their roles and fostering a culture of growth; facilitating events and workshops that inspire co-creation and co-design with staff and stakeholders. Compliance and Quality: Ensuring adherence to all legislative requirements, the Nursing Council of New Zealand, Medical Sciences Council, and the Code of Good Manufacturing Practice. Clinical experience in blood collection and Therapeutic Apheresis - including plasma exchange, cellular collection, red cell exchange, white cell and platelet depletion and bone marrow processing using TerumoBCT Optia. My role also involves collaborating within the Donor Services Senior Leadership Team, driving positive changes that enhance our service delivery. I'm committed to developing flexible strategies that anticipate and respond to the rapidly changing landscape. I take pride in establishing and maintaining a robust learning framework, setting high standards for nursing practice, and supporting individual training needs using established tools and methods. Working collaboratively with staff, managers, clinical leaders, and SMEs, I aim to create a learning environment that reflects the very best practices in adult education.
