About Lisa Jensen

I was born and raised in a small town in Mid-Michigan complete with small town values that always seem to carry a huge impact in today’s society. Joining the military right out of High School, I continued my life skills training with heavy emphasis on discipline, honor and integrity in the United States Marine Corps. For 7 years between active and reserve duty, the USMC honed my organizational, research, and the ever important, attention to detail skills so needed in every corner of my life. I have been blessed and utilize those values, trainings, and skills that I have been given for many jobs throughout my career. In 2005, I was introduced to the world of International Exchange and never turned back. I have enjoyed adding to my life, the introduction of many different cultures and the diversity of our world. Together, with my loving husband of over 20 years, and our beautiful daughter, this has become more than just an exchange program, it has become a beautiful lifestyle. Today, as a Regional Manager for Greenheart Exchange, I am entrusted to develop a team of local coordinators to work with these wonderful High School International Students. I accomplish this mainly through networking. I endeavor to help them develop skills through monthly trainings; and to empower them to meet their own as well as team goals. There is so much enjoyment as a Local Coordinator from meeting the students, learning diversity, introducing schools and host families to this program, as well as relationships that are developed. As a Regional Manager and Local Coordinator, we wear many hats. We are counselor, advisor, advocate, volunteer leader, sometimes disciplinarian and sometimes social director. It is the most fulfilling career I could have ever dreamed of.
