About Lisa Lake

I’m a dedicated professional with a background in education, youth justice, and community engagement, and the founder of Deep Roots Candles, a small business specializing in nostalgic home fragrances. In my current role as an Attendance Counsellor with the Thunder Bay Catholic District School Board, I support students and families in overcoming barriers to education, fostering positive relationships, and helping young people succeed in both school and life. My previous experience in youth justice has given me a strong foundation in advocacy, restorative practices, and guiding youth through challenges with compassion and accountability. Alongside my career in education, I am also an entrepreneur and community builder. As the founder of Deep Roots Candles, I create hand-poured soy candles and home fragrance products designed to spark joy and connection through scent. I also help coordinate and promote various events through committees and run social media for such events.
