About Lisa Lambert

At Chatham, I have served as department chair, division chair, director of the graduate biology program, and associate dean for Academic Affairs. While division chair I also served as faculty coordinator and "shepherd"​ for the Buhl Hall (science) renovation project and the ubiquitous computing initiative. My research focuses on the evolution of the genes involved in iron homeostasis in a variety of organisms using primarily a bioinformatics approach (phylogenetics, protein modeling, etc.) More recently I have also done work on interleukin 7 and orthologues. I have served as a panel reviewer for the NSF and NIH, as an external reviewer for several colleges, and as an ad hoc reviewer for a number of journals including BMC Genomics and the Journal of Molecular Evolution. Over the years I've offered over 20 different courses including genetics, biostatistics, bioinformatics, research methods, and developmental biology. I have supervised over a dozen thesis students and over 70 undergraduate tutorial students.
