About Lisa Luttrell

At the start of 2020, I was serving as Lead Teacher at Turning Sun School, leading a classroom, developing and implementing age-appropriate activities, and supervising two other teachers. But by May of that year, the childcare industry — and the entire world — had been completely upended. My sister, who was a new mother at the time, and two other families were in search of childcare and unable to find any openings. They asked if I would be willing to serve as their nanny and I agreed. Two years later, those children are headed to preschool and I am pursuing a new opportunity. My expertise in managing concurrent responsibilities and skills in effective communication and coordination will make me a valuable asset to your team. Starting in July 2019, I worked directly with special-needs students, providing a safe and loving environment where they were able to thrive and learn. I worked one-on-one with students to develop and implement individualized curricula to improve their communication, knowledge, and gross motor skills. My career began in 2017, while working at Auburn University’s Social Development Lab, designing, implementing, and evaluating two anti-bullying interventions in 20+ elementary schools across Alabama and Georgia. Within a year, I was promoted to School Coordinator, and began managing all aspects of the program within one of the research sites. My responsibilities included leading a team of eight to ten research assistants, managing all direct and indirect communications with school staff, preparing all materials, and conducting all other administrative tasks. In early 2019, I also began working with the Alabama Healthy Marriage and Relationship Education Initiative as a Facilitator. In this position I taught Relationship Smarts+ curriculum in high school health classes. My responsibilities included building working relationships with a diverse group of adolescents and educating them on healthy relationship patterns and effective communication skills.
