About Lisa Rake

Transitioning from 13 years in strategic management and policy work across Queensland local and state government and NZ central agency to direct provision of services to people with disability and loving it! My experience in government and NGO's means I can navigate the complex disability system and help clients access quality services to help them achieve their goals. I enjoy researching and liaising with providers to develop options so my clients can exercise choice and control. I am building my knowledge base daily and establishing respectful relationships with all stakeholders including clients, carers and disability service providers. I also use my knowledge and skills to assist clients in preparing for their annual NDIA Plan Reviews to help ensure they are in the best position to secure an appropriate level of funding to meet their needs. In the future I want to provide outreach services to marginalised groups such as people from culturally and linguistically diverse and Indigenous backgrounds to help ensure they can access the National Disability Insurance Scheme.
