About Lisa Rutter

In my 17-year career, I’ve experienced an extensive range of skillsets such as teaching, support working, bookkeeping, sales and personal training. I successfully completed a Bachelor of Teaching in Secondary Schooling and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Human Movement. I very much enjoyed my double degree as it provided me with a platform to allow for different career choices. For the last 7 years I’ve been volunteering at Narre Warren North Primary School as a parent helper. This experience has developed my passion in supporting children and teachers. Witnessing the growth and development of the students along with the relationships I have formed, has provided me with immense personal satisfaction. My personal philosophy of teaching holds paramount the value of children being active participants in their learning with educators facilitating this journey. My career objective is to educate, support, care and advocate for children and families. It has been through my recent experiences at Bridgewood Primary School and Narre Warren North Primary School, where I have developed a genuine interest in supporting children with additional needs. The lovely relationships I develop with the individual students is extremely rewarding both for the student and for myself. I am enthusiastic, accountable, personable and compassionate with a strong desire to see children achieve at their highest capability. I believe each child has individual learning needs and styles and I am confident in assisting the teachers with the use of various teaching methods to cater for every child. I enjoy working in teams and foster learning environments that nurture team values. My motivated nature ensures that I am flexible and agile to adapt in all situations. My objective is to set and achieve goals with the students I work with to develop intellectual, social and emotional growth. Whilst I understand that not all students have the capacity to achieve strong academic results, I will share and instill my passion, enthusiasm and commitment of learning, with the aim of helping them reach their own potential.
