About Lisa Sparks

I am an editor with extensive experience educational and non-fiction materials and fiction novels. I have done work for Colborne Communications, Iguana Books, Aplia, Nelson Education, Alberta Education, and Alberta Distance Learning Centre (ADLC). While I have primarily done copyediting and proofreading, I have overseen many manuscripts through the substantive and stylistic editing stages as well. I have worked closely with authors, clients, and teachers to ensure a polished product for each project. I have edited fiction books, government and corporate reports and newsletters, and textbooks, tests banks, and online and print course materials for elementary, high school, and college level courses (subjects include English, language arts, biology, chemistry, physics, general science, geography, economics, finance, accounting, calculus, management, social studies, law, and art). I have also compiled/authored the third edition of the children's joke book “Jokelopedia.”
