About Lisa Visca

I have been working with children with special needs for over 17 years. I enjoy finding the right tools to help each child learn and grow, and am very skilled at differentiating instruction and providing access/accommodations where needed. It is important to build a rapport with each student and incorporating their interests into their learning. I especially enjoy working with younger students helping them discover and explore the environment and materials around them. I believe that students learn best when a relationship is developed and they are given the opportunity to examine their thoughts and ideas with the teacher as a guide. I have a deep connection with nature and believe that there is more we can do to save our planet. My passion and love for historical properties and art history continue to flourish. My faith guides me, and I have many gifts that I have yet implemented in my work. I want to find an environment that embraces, grows and nurtures these gifts. I want to live in my spiritual place, New Mexico, and work with the beautiful cultures and people of this state. I’m pursuing a certificate in Native American Art History at IAIA in Santa Fe, and I want to gain more experience and knowledge in the museum and research field. I enjoy exploring new and old hiking trails with my dog, playing with and training my young horse, visiting historical sites and diving into a good book.
