About Lisa Watts

Educated to post-graduate level, I commenced my career as a lawyer in private practice for 6 years. These client facing roles required me to repeatedly deliver on commitments to deadlines. I was also afforded the opportunity to be responsible for a branch office and management of staff. During 2010, I moved into Financial Services with a Business Continuity role at Bank of New York Mellon. As a facilitator between business and technology areas, I carried out an integral role during testing, projects and incident management events. The diverse nature of the role required me to work with a range of global key stakeholders across the business, technology and shared service groups. Looking to experience other areas of the Bank and to develop my risk experience, I moved to a Control Management role. Alongside the operational process testing, this role advocated an education focus. Consequently, I created and delivered training through both workshops and recorded sessions on a range of topics including risk and control basics, CASS and business continuity overviews. Having joined State Street in April 2016, I spent 2 years working within Global Markets, primarily in Business Continuity before moving to Global Services as a Business Controls Manager (April 2018). As of August 2020, I’ve had the opportunity to joined the EMEA Outsourcing Office team working on a range of initiatives.
