About Lisa Wise

I have been with NH Sea Grant Extension since January 2017. Prior to that, I worked on several projects focused on the Great Bay Estuary. In 2015, I completed my master's in natural resource management at the University of New Hampshire through the TIDES program (Training for the Integration of Decision making and Ecosystem Science). TIDES is a two-year professional program focused on bridging the gap between science and decision making to tackle environmental challenges. The major focus of my master's was a six-month internship at the Hudson River National Estuarine Research Reserve in New York, where I supported a number of stakeholder engagement processes, collaborative projects, and fieldwork. At UNH, I also completed a graduate certificate program in geospatial science. Prior to graduate school, I earned my bachelor's in environmental conservation studies, including two semesters abroad (in Ecuador with the School for International Training and in New Zealand with EcoQuest), and worked in the Soil Microbial Ecology lab. In addition to my day job, I am actively involved in my local Conservation Commission, including working on updating our open space plan, participating in the comprehensive plan update, supporting climate related projects, and contributing to our communications activities.
