Background
About Lisa Wolfe
I pioneered the continuous evolution of a multimedia news organization from the nation’s first internet-only all-news radio station into the leading digital publication for federal executives and government contractors. Talk about change management! I disrupted the broadcast radio market, adding $15M in revenue to the Hubbard D.C. properties, and achieving 33M+ annual page views and 50K+ social media followers. I’m a subject matter expert in digital content creation and dissemination. I digitized an analog radio station!"The Pivot" is what my team dubbed the evolution to a digital-first mindset. Every person, task, workflow, resource and effort was redirected. We podcasted before it was posh as my vision called for every single piece of audio content to be available online. I’m also a content creator and editor. My writing and editing has touched all aspects of the organization - from news articles, audience surveys, station branding and imaging, station and show format language, station and partner promos, to marketing emails, client commercials and white papers – supported by over two decades in journalism. My ability to recruit key talent and build successful teams was a critical skill in the success of FNN. In 2006, there were only two people: me and a digital editor. The journey since then was never straightforward, but one I enthusiastically navigated, which led to FNN leapfrogging competitors with a team of 20 dedicated mission stakeholders. This continual growth required FNN to shed its skin, so I created effective communications strategies to rebrand. As our stature in the community grew, I differentiated our benefits. And as the future became clearer, I changed the name to reflect not one single distribution platform (radio), but any and all platforms now and in the future. And key to everything, I learned to love data. When assumptions are proven false, a universe of possibilities becomes available. I set FNN up with platforms and tools to test theories and depending on failure or success, we implement or iterate. Through it all, I've developed my own management best practices:*There is always an answer *Expect greatness *Lead by example *Share personal stories of failure and success and what you’ve learned from both *Honesty is important, and kindness is critical.*Never fail alone – continually seek guidance and ask for help
