About Lisandra Matos
I'm currently a British Council Scholar in the Scholarship for Women in STEM. This program is aimed for women with a background in STEM and who wish to inspire future generations of women to pursue careers in STEM. Among more than applications I was one of 6 selected to study at Bangor University, Wales, UK. After earning my undergraduate degree in Oceanography from Federal University of Maranhão, Brazil, I entered the science communication and environmental education world to explore my passion for connect the science to society needs. Currently, I'm finishing my master degree in Marine Environmental Protection at Bangor University, my dissertation project in partnership with Wales Government is focused on assessing the vulnerability of the UK fishing fleet to climate change. As an interdisciplinary professional, my goal is to work on conservation of the marine environment and help companies and organizations become more sustainable.
