Background

About Lissette Almonte

I am an Assistant Professor and Researcher at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, with a PhD in Computer Science and more than 10 years of combined experience in data science, machine learning, systems modeling, and software engineering. My research focuses on Model-Driven Engineering (MDE), recommender systems, and intelligent assistants. Currently, I am working on the application of Large Language Models (LLMs) to modeling assistants, with the goal of enhancing automation, usability, and user experience in software engineering environments. Alongside my research, I have extensive teaching experience in undergraduate programs such as Computer Engineering, Telecommunication Technologies Engineering, and Data Science and Engineering. I teach courses including Software Analysis and Design, Programming, Computer Science and Society, and Project Management, and I supervise both Bachelor’s (TFG) and Master’s theses (TFM). Before academia, I worked as a Data Analyst for 5 years, developing expertise in real-time analytics, scalable data solutions, and workflow automation. These experiences allow me to bridge academic innovation with industry needs, and I remain interested in opportunities where applied research and practical data-driven solutions intersect.
