I ended up where I am by what feels like an accident. I've heard it said before that,"No little kid says they want to be a Product Manager when they grow up." I guess that might be true? When I was 5 I'm pretty sure I said I wanted to be a penguin. I started at Generac out of absolute necessity for a job because my role was effectively eliminated at the prior company I worked for. I did not intend to stay for more than 3 months, but loved the leadership I had. And that's been true since day 1. Truly enjoying the people I work with is so important to me. I believe that the "person" comes first, and that is a value I hold so dearly. The people I surround myself with - both personally and professionally - are some top-notch individuals. Outside of work I love to bake cupcakes, read, and check out new restaurants and breweries. All this to say, I don't believe the question should be,"What do you want to DO," as in a job. but,"Who do you want to be?" Who do I want to be when I grow up? I don't know entirely because it evolves as I learn new things about myself and the world - but I know I want to be helpful, adventurous, fun, thoughtful, and curious. Nice to meet you! Let's connect.
