About Liz Cameron

With a career spanning over 20 years across corporate human resources and counselling psychology, I bring a uniquely integrated, practical, solution-focused, and trauma-informed approach to mental health and personal development. Before pivoting to a career as a psychologist, I spent more than a decade in various HR roles in the world’s largest diamond mining company. This unforgettable experience gave me firsthand insight into the complexities of organizational dynamics, supervision and leadership, and the challenges behind attaining and maintaining professional performance while juggling multiple priorities and expectations both within and outside the workplace. I hold an undergraduate degree in Human Resources and Business Management and a master’s degree in psychology. Having practiced psychology within the university and private practice landscape, and in both Canada and South Africa, I draw from an extensive range of experiences. My South African heritage, rooted in the spirit of Ubuntu, has instilled in me a profound respect for community, connection, and emotional safety — values that guide every personal and business interaction. I feel genuinely privileged to offer our clients and our team at the Calgary Counselling and Psychology Centre a sense of community and safety within the context of strict adherence to ethics, high levels of professionalism, and superior client service. We pride ourselves in contributing to a space in which everyone can laugh and cry, support and be supported; succeed and fail, learn and grow, and discover the most authentic version of themselves, and live that with confidence.
