About Liz Yohn

In my current nonprofit role with PACEM, I innovate and manage creative solutions to the immediate, critical needs of neighbors experiencing homelessness. I create the digital and material systems that we need as a low-barrier shelter to navigate the rapidly-evolving resource ecosystem. The best part about my job is that I play a direct role in strengthening our community and our organization. A close second-best part is that I am always learning something new. In addition, I currently manage the blog of Science Journal for Kids, a nonprofit that makes primary research accessible for K-12 students around the world, and provides teachers with resources to use these adapted articles in their classrooms. To these positions I bring 10+ years of experience in education research, writing, and administration, with an added focus on business team skills-building and professional development. Called "the MacGyver"​ of my team and awarded its first-ever "Problem Solver" award, among other recognitions, I quickly dissect complex issues through quantitative and qualitative research and re-present the details for a variety of audiences and in multiple formats. My experience in historical research on sensitive multicultural issues allows me to consider the human impacts of new programs and policies with particular empathy and perspective.
