About Liza Bernstein

I am a qualitative researcher at Northwestern University with a strong foundation in sociological methods and a passion for understanding human behavior. My work is driven by the belief that research should not only explain the "why" behind behavior but also translate findings into clear, actionable insights. I design and execute multi-phase qualitative research projects, developing comprehensive project plans, study protocols, and managing timelines and deliverables. I lead end-to-end research initiatives - from research design and participant recruitment to data collection, analysis, and final reporting. I have particular expertise in conducting and moderating in-depth interviews (IDIs) and focus groups, and I regularly develop interview guides and recruitment strategies, including screening surveys.I'm excited about applying my research and data analysis skills across industries where research is used to drive thoughtful, human-centered decisions.
