About Liza Malcolm

As a Digital Media Coordinator for Planned Parenthood South Atlantic, I manage the digital media presence and outreach of one of the largest organizations committed to protecting access to reproductive health care and rights for all people through advocacy, education, lobbying, and electoral activity in the Southeast US. Our bases of power are located in North Carolina, South Carolina, West Virginia, and Virginia. I aim to collaborate with abortion funds, mutual aid groups, environmental organizations, and community partners to promote accessible reproductive healthcare, protect access to abortion, support LGBTQ+ rights, and work for equity of people and their families. As a graduate of College of Charleston Honors College, I earned a double major in International Studies (Latin American and Caribbean Focus) and Public Health (Global Health Concentration) at the College of Charleston Honors College. I received multiple honors and awards for my academic excellence and research. Upon graduation, I continue to have a strong interest in exploring the intersections of health, politics, and culture in different contexts, and I have gained international exposure and language skills through studying abroad in Argentina and learning Spanish, French, and Portuguese. I remain passionate about civic engagement and social justice, and I am grateful to have served as a Faith in the Vaccine Carolinas Ambassador and a Rotaract Club Vice-President and Secretary, where I applied my problem-solving and community organizing skills to address various local and global issues.
