About Lizeth Gomez

Lizeth Gómez is an immigration law and criminal defense attorney. She is barred in the State of Georgia. She earned a Juris Doctor from Georgia State University College of Law. She also earned a Bachelor of Art in Political Science at Georgia State University. She has over ten years of experience in the legal field, particularly in criminal defense and immigration law. Throughout law school, Ms. Gómez was awarded internships with the offices of Judge Thompson in the State Court of Fayette County, the DeKalb County Public Defender, and the Spalding County District Attorney. Immediately following law school, she was awarded a fellowship with the Southern Poverty Law Center’s Southeast Immigrant Freedom Initiative. Later, she served as a Public Defender in Clayton County handling pre-indictment hearings. has both courtroom and litigation support experience. Ms. Gómez is committed to social justice, increasing the number of Latinx in the legal field, and serving the immigrant community of Atlanta. She currently serves as an Instructor at Freedom University where she teaches Legal Studies. She is a member of the Steering Committee of the Atlanta Defend Asylum Workshops. She serves as the South Regional Manager on the inaugural board of Hermanas In the Law. She is also a member of the Gate City Bar Association, the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Gate City Bar Association, the Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys, the Georgia Association of Women Lawyers, the Atlanta Bar Association, and the Georgia Hispanic Bar Association.
