About Lloyd Gingerich

I have worked in education as a teacher and administrator for over 20 years. I began teaching Spanish and English as a second language. For two years I lived and taught in Costa Rica where I was immersed in the Spanish language and became a fluent speaker. I also gained a very different view of the world living in a developing country versus living in the most powerful country in the world. One of my goals now is that the students in my school gain a broader, more global view of the world they live in, not just a West Michigan perspective. I want them to be fully prepared to compete and collaborate in a very diverse and ever increasingly connected world. I am constantly reading and learning so that as a principal I constantly improve my practice as a leader and model lifelong learning for my teachers and students. I feel blessed to be working in Jenison where I have been given many opportunities to learn and grow as a professional and where I've been given the opportunity to plan and build our district's Spanish Immersion program.
