Background
About Lloyd Snook
I have been in private practice since 1979, concentrating in litigation. I am probably best known for representing clients charged with serious crimes like federal drug conspiracies and murders (I have represented more than 100 people charged with murder), but my real interests are broader: 1. Trial advocacy. How can I persuade a jury to vote for a position that they probably wouldn't have thought they'd ever vote for? Criminal constitutional law. When the Framers drafted the Bill of Rights, they gave to all of us certain protections, whether we are innocent or guilty. What do those protections mean, 220 years later? Making sense of large amounts of evidence. In Virginia, our trials tend to be short - days, rather than weeks as they may be in other states. How can I organize thousands of pages of information so that a jury can make sense of it? I belong to the Charlottesville-Albemarle Bar Association, the Charlottesville Area Criminal Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the Virginia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association, and the American Association for Justice. Specialties: Criminal law, from traffic offenses to capital murder; plaintiff's personal injury; construction contract litigation; other civil litigation
