Want to get to know me? This is my story so far… My work story begins as a 15-year-old kid starting my first job in the meat department of my local grocery store. This Job early on taught me the importance of working in teams efficiently and also taught me how to be independent and proactive with my daily activities. I continued to work in the meat departments of various grocery stores until 19. I then transitioned into something completely new. Waterproofing decks and building railings. This change made me realize how much I love learning new skills and taking on challenges that would help me grow as an employee and an individual. Growing up in Burlington, I spent a lot of time with family, a majority of which was with my father who would always take me and my twin brother to see our local hockey teams when he wasn't taking us to our own games or practices. That was one of the hardest changes of my move to the big city of Ottawa, where I attended Algonquin College to obtain my certificate in media and communication and my diploma in business management and entrepreneurship. It was during this time when I was offered a part time job as a bank teller with NBC, this job later blossoming into a full time Banking Advisor role with the bank. Taking on this new role right out of school helped me to learn what I am really passionate about and that is working with all different types of clients from all different backgrounds and being able to create financial plans specific to each clients needs, that help them to reach their goals. I was also very fulfilled during my time with NBC as I got to work with some really great people on fundraisers that I heavily support. Annually we would support in fundraising for juvenile diabetes. Even after leaving the bank, I have continued to invest my time to raising money and creating awareness for foundations that I support. Anything centered around mental health is something I am always willing to get behind. I have never been been afraid of adversity or hard work. I have always seen challenges as opportunities for growth. Outside of work, I spend most my time playing shinny hockey, hitting the gym or Golfing. My greatest skill is to remain calm in periods of high pressure and stress. There is no certainty in life, everyday is a new chapter. I take life one day at a time and act appropriately to get things done.
