Start by doing what’s necessary; then do what’s possible; and suddenly you are doing the impossible."-St. Francis of AssisiI am a 2019 graduate from the Universty of Kansas with a B.A. in Applied Behavioral Sciences with an emphasis in Community Health. My undergraduate experience led me to pursue a Masters of Urban Planning at the University of Kansas with interests in sustainability, land use planning, GIS applications, and transportation. After gradating from KU spring 2019, I began working in pediatric behavioral health. My experiences in behavioral health have challenged me to communicate, negotiate, and collaborate with coworkers effectively in a fast paced and demanding environment. Ultimately, I knew I wanted to go into public service through Urban Planning which brought me back to KU. I am an engaged citizen in my community. Participating in community events and supporting causes that align with my values are important to me. When I am not in class, at work, or engaging with my community I enjoy doing yoga, trying new recipes, and exploring Kansas City!Recently graduated with my MUP in December 2021, I am in the market for a position as a land use or transportation planner with a government or non-profit agency in the Kansas City region to develop, support, and execute sustainable land use policy and practices and/or creative, equitable, and sustainable transportation planning.
