I’m a biochemistry graduate with distinction from the University of Lethbridge (B.Sc, 2023) with a passion for applying complex analytical techniques to solve real-world challenges. Currently, I’m a Process Lead and Plasma Associate at Canadian Blood Services, where I perform high-precision venipuncture, oversee sample processing, and train new hires on quality assurance protocols—ensuring compliance with strict health and safety standards. My hands-on lab experience spans molecular biology and agricultural research. At the University of Lethbridge, I optimized CRISPR genome-editing protocols, earning 1st Place at the 2023 Women in STEM Conference for presenting my work on Vanessa cardui phenotypic variances. I also authored a lab manual adopted for third-year biology courses. Previously, I supported Agriculture & Agri-Food Canada’s winter wheat breeding program, mastering double haploid production and troubleshooting experimental conditions to accelerate high-yield cultivar development. I thrive in detail-oriented environments, leveraging skills in SDS-PAGE, chromatography, gel electrophoresis, and UltraScan software to deliver reliable results. With a strong foundation in scientific communication and teamwork, I’m excited to contribute to cutting-edge, science-based organizations like the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, where I can advance food safety and public health through rigorous lab analysis. Outside the lab, I’ve mentored students as a Biology 1010 Tutorial Instructor and inspired young girls in STEM as a virtual instructor.
