As Trade Finance Director (Licensee Approved Person), I oversee a comprehensive portfolio of clients across the EMEA region. My responsibilities encompass trade business development, the formulation and management of client strategies, the origination of sustainable and profitable business opportunities in alignment with those strategies, client advisory, portfolio management, and issue resolution. I collaborate closely with Corporate Bankers, the Treasury Department, Credit, Operations, Legal, and Compliance across various lines of business. Latest achievements: The Arab Energy Fund further enhanced its position as the regional financier of choice in the trade finance space by booking US$1.4 Bn of syndicated and bilateral facilities – including refinancing – an increase of c. US$600 Mn. This included the expansion of bilateral facilities with traders (such as Vitol, Trafigura, Gunvor, Mercuria, Hartree, Totsa, Socar Trading, OQ Trading, or BB Energy), NOC (such as Aramco, ADNOC, BAPCO, Sonatrach, NNPC, or EGPC) as well as the provision of finance support to clients such as ACWA Power, ADES Group, and the National Energy Services Reunited Corp, whose requirements have been historically project finance focused. The Arab Energy Fund LC desk activity also continued to grow, processing 106 transactions, 40 more than last year, representing an aggregate value of US$1.8 Bn.
