About Lois Boxill

At and through Mining Impact Specialists Ltd, I build and work with robust teams of diverse and talented people who leverage their expertise and gifts to develop solutions and approaches that address challenges existing at the nexus of resource extraction, people, society, and the environment. A naturally curious, lifelong learner, I start with a mindset that seeing people, respecting them and their story and wisdom, and creativity combined with wide ranging expertise enable possibilities to be fully explored, and produce outcomes that far outstrip what any entity on their own might imagine possible. My life's journey has taught me that wisdom and insight of all forms and sources make things better, richer, and more robust. This is no less true for mining, especially if mining is to rise to the levels of excellence and service that are required of all industries and economies that hope to also be best for our Planet and its inhabitants. I understand that we live in a critical moment where more and better is required of each of us, simply by virtue of what is evident in daily life around the world. Through and with my team at Mining Impact Specialists Ltd.(MISL), we are committed to working with all parties willing to come to the table in good faith and with openness, recognizing that our planet and all its inhabitants require and deserve approaches that can objectively be identified as serving the biggest vision and reality of “benefit” imaginable. This vision is also one in which neither the environment nor People, especially First Peoples and knowledge keepers, end up as collateral damage in the service of a “good” that only benefits some. With all partners, our team develops and implements bottom-up strategies to achieve “best outcomes” that are clearly and directly anchored to what is heard from the People and leverage the best of known approaches, science, and technology, as well as cutting edge technologies and innovation that are still being developed and trialled. I am an engineer guided by heart and called to leverage all that I am, to serve People and our Planet, and to help an industry I understand to be essential, be even better.
