I graduated from Friends University in May of 1985, with a BS in Elementary Education and a Minor in Computer Science. I taught in Maize, Kansas from May 1985- May 1990. I taught Kindergarten for four years and First Grade for a year. We moved to Kansas City in June 1990. I started my Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction, with an emphasis in becoming a Reading Specialist in 1992. I took a hiatus to raise my children for 17 years, then returned to substitute teaching and preschool for the last 12 years.
