About Lola Renauer

Lola Renauer, M.P.S, is a second-year doctoral candidate in the Department of Environmental Health Sciences at the University of South Carolina’s Arnold School of Public Health in Columbia, SC. In her first year at USC, she became President of the SCAWWA/WEASC Carolina Student Chapter and a certified volunteer with the Adopt-A-Stream Freshwater Monitoring Program. Additionally, Ms. Renauer is currently the Contaminants of Emerging Concern Graduate Assistant at the South Carolina Sea Grant Consortium. Ms. Renauer received her Bachelor’s degree in Marine Science from Coastal Carolina University and her Master’s degree in Marine Conservation from the University of Miami’s Rosenstiel School of Marine, Atmospheric, and Earth Science. For the last eight years, her research has included photo-identification of common bottlenose dolphins (T. truncatus) for distribution and occurrence, as well as assessing natural and anthropogenic impacts on this species. Currently, her dissertation research focuses on skin lesion prevalence in regard to contaminants and other water quality parameters.
