About Lora Bornhoft

No one cares how much you know, until they know how much you care" Theodore Roosevelt I became a Registered Respiratory Therapist in 1990, and although I no longer work at the bedside, the focus of my work every day, is still the patient. I was blessed with a great 21 year run as an RT at Sanford USD Medical Center, working in all areas of the hospital, including adult and pediatric critical care, charge therapist and flight team. The last 12 years were spent as the Adult Home Care Coordinator, responsible for coordinating respiratory equipment and providing education to patients at discharge. This role, my involvement in the AARC at both the state and national level, and some wonderful relationships, led me to where I am today. In 2011, I began my career as an Account Executive with Hillrom Respiratory Health. I am committed to being responsive to my customers and patients and will always provide the best possible service. I value relationships and especially love that so many of my customers have become my friends. My years working as an RT, serving as SDSRC President and in the AARC House of Delegates created lasting bonds. In 2017, I was honored to be named the Respiratory Therapist of the Year by my peers in the South Dakota Society for Respiratory Care. My family is my greatest joy. I married my high school sweetheart, we were blessed with 3 children, who we enjoy more with each passing year.
