About Lora Gibbons

With over two decades of experience in education, my work has consistently centered on innovation, equity, and impact. This commitment was recognized with the Governor's Medal for Science and Technology, honoring my efforts to advance STEM education statewide. As a Department of Defense STEM Ambassador, I led initiatives to connect women in STEM with mentoring opportunities and presented at national conferences, advocating for inclusive, forward-thinking science instruction. At Utah Education Network (UEN), I developed the organization's first online course focused on student-centered instruction and sensemaking, and produced two widely used, innovative “teacher tip” videos to support engagement in classrooms. My leadership at Mountain Heights Academy included guiding science curriculum development, mentoring educators, and designing learning experiences that connect students with real-world problem solving. These experiences, combined with a strong foundation in instructional design, research-based practice, and teacher mentorship, uniquely position me to support and inspire educators and students alike.
