About Loralee Bandy

I am excited to begin my role as a Technician for Incoming Goods in the QC Raw Materials & Incoming Goods Department at Bristol Myers Squibb's new Cell Therapy Facility in Leiden! I previously worked as an Associate Scientist for Abbott’s Diagnostic Division, specifically Assay Research & Development. I conducted research as part of a large team that is dedicated to providing medical diagnostic technology that serves healthcare patients across the world. I enjoyed honing my skills in executing experiments, troubleshooting instrumentation, analyzing and investigating data, and overall working as a team to provide high quality, effective diagnostic products globally. Previously, I spent much of 2020-2021 responding to the COVID-19 pandemic by serving my community as a Team Lead for the Hospital Access Monitors at Providence Milwaukie Hospital. This experience brought me valuable insight into our current healthcare system and the needs of patients, and I am grateful that I was able to give back to my community during this difficult time. I graduated from Reed College with a BA in Biology ad hoc Anthropology. I chose this major because I believe in the importance of translational and interdisciplinary research in improving medicine and public health. I am eager to continue applying my laboratory and communication skills in the fast-paced, high-risk setting of interdisciplinary research to the broader realms of science and public healthcare!
