About Lorelei Walker

I have a B.S. in Energy and Climate from Humboldt State University, with a minor in Environmental Policy. I graduated Cum Laude and was awarded the Outstanding Student Award for Energy and Climate in May 2021. I was a Blue Lake Rancheria Clean Energy Studies Fellow as well as a Graduate Research Assistant at the Schatz Energy Research Center from 2021-2023. At the Schatz Center, I focused on floating offshore wind, specifically the wind energy areas off the coast of California and Oregon, as well as the BOEM leasing process and variability of nonmonetary credits. I am an Electric Generation System Specialist at the California Energy Commission where I focus on offshore wind and long term transmission planning. I am a technical writer with expertise writing, formatting, and editing works such as Commission adopted reports, informational briefings, and joint comment letters. I am well versed in policies and agencies at the county, state, and federal levels involved in the offshore wind and transmission frameworks. I have experience in policy analysis, economic analysis (market trends, forecasting), energy analysis (renewable portfolio standards (RPS), lifecycle analysis), and climate analysis (trends, greenhouse gas emissions, carbon sequestration, tipping points, environmental impact assessment).
